Oil changes are the cheapest form of maintenance that you can buy for your car to keep it running for a long time. It is highly important that you keep up a good habit of changing your oil every 3 months or every 3000-500 miles. Fresh oil in your engine will keep your car running smoothly and increase your car’s efficiency.
Most people try to push the distance on their oil changes for some reason. This is a horrible idea since you start to risk serious damage to your car and lower the possible lifespan of your vehicle. Simply driving up to a place like Jiffy Lube or Sears and getting a mechanic to drain and replace your lube is all you need to do. And it isn’t that often, it isn’t that expensive, and it doesn’t take a long time for the mechanic to complete.
Cost of an Oil Change
Oil change prices will vary based on a few different factors. You can get a very cheap oil change or you can get an extremely expensive one. Here are the factors affecting your oil change price:
- Type of oil change – There are 4 types of oil changes and they all have their own pricing. They are
- High Mileage
- Synthetic Blend
- Fully Synthetic
- Location – Different companies charge different amounts. Most large retailers like Sears and Pep Boys keep their prices lower than most local mechanics, but you can keep an eye out for local deals for cheap oil changes near you.
- Filter or no filter – Some standard oil changes come with a filter, some don’t. The filter is almost never free. The price of the filter is usually added and they will range anywhere from $3-$20.
Cheap Oil Change Coupons
Coupons for oil changes are much easier to find that you might think. The fist place you should check is the company’s website that you are looking to go to. If you want a Sears oil change coupon, the Sears site always has them up for you on their automotive coupons section. Walmart coupons are available, rarely, on their website. Even the local mechanics will put up deals on their websites.
Cheapest Oil Changes
I have found that the cheapest oil changes that you can find will often be on Groupon or Living Social. All you need to do is login to either of these sites and sear for “oil change” to find any deals that they will have in your area. You can narrow down how far away you want to go and find the closest deals as well.
NTB Oil Change Coupons
NTB doesn’t usually provide coupons for their oil changes. They don’t have to since they already have some of the most affordable deals without having to look up any extra discounts.
